... and many other advantages
Between South Tyrol’s glaciers and traditional farmsteads
In the midst of the unspoilt Schnalstal Valley, at the foot of the world-famous glacier where Ötzi, the Man from Ice, once roamed, lies the idyllic village of Unser Frau. On its outskirts, in the hamlet of Vernagt, can be found the “Dorfblick Apartments & Rooms”, in a sunny location surrounded by lush green meadows in summer and magical snowy landscapes in winter.
The house is run by young Thomas Rainer and his family, who always strive to anticipate the wishes and needs of their guests. Their aim is for everyone to feel at ease and at home while on holiday in the Schnalstal Valley. Cleanliness is a particular concern: the new and stylishly furnished rooms and holiday apartments, renovated and modernised in 2020, offer guests all they need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The special feel-good atmosphere is complemented by a fully equipped kitchen, a balcony or panoramic window, free Wi-Fi, a TV and warm, modern furnishings in rustic style. The price includes use of the in-house sauna with its relaxation room, while there is free parking directly outside, with communal areas and a communal kitchen. On request the Rainer family can also arrange delivery of fresh bread rolls and various regional products every day.
The sun loungers, tables and chairs are ideal for spending time outdoors, especially in the warmer months of the year. There are wonderful views of the village of Unser Frau with its majestic pilgrimage church, as well as of the surrounding farmsteads and larch forests on the mountain slopes for which the Schnalstal Valley is renowned.
Whatever the season, the Haus Dorfblick makes an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions. There is a bus stop close by and the village centre is just 2.5 km away. The famous Schnalstal ski area is only 7 km away and is easily reached by car or ski bus. Thomas’s father knows the valley – and indeed South Tyrol – like the back of his hand and has himself authored pieces about the valley. He is a valuable source of hiking tips and, as a ski instructor, knows the ski area particularly well
