A genuinely fragrant start to spring!

This fragrance whips bees into a frenzy! The point that the blossom on South Tyrol's numerous apple trees opens up can differ and depends on the previous winter and altitude. The south is usually the first place to see the blossom, as well as the area around Meran. After this, it's the Etsch and Eisack river valleys . Delicate blossom encased in ice

The ice blossom created by the operation of irrigation plants to protect against frost during – in the literal sense – the ice-cold spring nights is an absolutely fascinating sight. In order to protect the blossom against the frost, the sprinklers are turned on. The water freezes due to the cold and forms a protective, glassy case around the apple blossom, which then disappears in the bright morning sun.
